How to Use Your "Boil & Bite" Trays
Getting a custom fit is the secret to even whitening. Follow these simple steps to mold your trays to your unique smile:
Heat the Water: Bring a pot of water to a boil, then remove it from the heat source. Let it sit for about 30–60 seconds so it is hot but not bubbling.
Soften the Tray: Holding the tray by its tab, dip it into the hot water for 5–10 seconds. You will see the tray start to soften and become pliable. (Be careful not to leave it in too long, or it may collapse!)
Mold to Your Teeth: Place the warm tray over your upper teeth. Use your tongue to press against the back of your teeth while using your fingers to press the tray firmly against the front of your teeth.
Create Suction: Suck the air and water out of the tray to create a vacuum seal, ensuring the tray conforms to every contour of your teeth.
Set the Shape: Once you feel the tray has hardened slightly (about 15 seconds), remove it and drop it into cold water to "set" the shape permanently.
Repeat & Trim: Repeat the process for your lower teeth. Cut the tabs of the tray and if the trays feel too tall and touch your gums, you can use small scissors to trim the edges for a more comfortable fit.
